MAKEUP TIPS
Camera Ready Makeup
Applying makeup incorrectly can ruin a great photograph, whether its your wedding
day or posing for headshots. It is best to hire a professional makeup artist
to look your best in photos. If you are applying the makeup yourself here
are some tips.
Following are some guidelines in applying makeup:
Color Photography
- Color film intensifies bold shades so makeup for
wedding photos and/or portraits should always look natural.
- Apply foundation with a clean sponge applicator for
an even skin tone.
- Use neutral eye colors such as earth tone browns or grays.
Avoid pastel shades and frosted shadows.
- Define the eyes by applying a soft eyeliner around
the eyes.
- Tweeze any stray eyebrows and bring them into place with
an eyebrow brush.
- Highlight your cheeks with a blush that enhances
your skin tone. Smile and apply blush lightly - don't over do it.
- Line your lips with a neutral lip liner and fill in
lips with a neutral shade, touch of red and/or lip gloss.
- Apply mascara that does not clump. False eye lashes
can also be used.
Black & White Photography
- Blend all makeup to eliminate any harsh lines that
may be emphasized in black and white photos.
- Choose neutral hues that will enhance your natural
skin tone.
- Avoid red lipsticks because it appears too
dark.
